are fantastic! They allow you to instantly change
rigs or weights without tying knots, which is useful when your hands
are freezing! Keeping one permanently attached to my shock leader
allows you to set up in a couple of minutes maximum. They fit through
the tip rings of all my rods no problem. Genuine Gemini
link clips have a wide enough gape to securely clip around the eye
of a lead unlike some cheaper copies which can be found.
are a must
for fishing at distance. Not only do they hold the hook firmly against
the body of the rig during casting and release every time, but they
also protect the bait during the cast and, more importantly, during
the impact with the water. Breakaway
impact shields are not cheap but they are worth every penny.
tension the snood
on clipped down rigs, preventing the snood from stretching. If the
snood stretches it can make it difficult to clip down on subsequent
casts. The Gemini
SRT spring is ideal for OTG (Off The Ground) casters as it stops
the snood releasing while the rig is on the sand in the casting
position.
are a cheap and
simple rotten bottom system which work. I I always open the loop
of the R.B.C. clip out a little more with some pliers just to ensure
that the lead does release. Veals
are simply bent pieces of wire which are held
onto the line with either silicone or neoprene tubing. They are
a cheaper than the Breakaway impact shield, and unlike the impact
shield they can be used anywhere on the rig body. There are occasions
when you can be unlucky and the clip doesn't release. These tend
to be few and far between though.
is used to attach
bait clips to the rig body and pennel hooks to the snood. It is
much easily to work with than silicone or PVC tubing.
